# Settings and configuration

> Use Settings to configure your location, its billing, member portal, connected services, and operational features.

## Overview

**Settings** is where you configure how your location operates and how it appears to customers. It includes location details, billing preferences, member portal options, connected services, access control, and data-management tools.

Go to **Settings** in the Nexudus dashboard. You need the **Settings** role or administrator access.

## Find a setting

Settings are organised into groups and pages. Use the settings search to find a setting by its name, then open the matching page and section.

Depending on your account, you can switch between viewing settings for the current location and viewing comparable data for all locations that you can access.

<Tip>
  Make changes while the correct location is selected. Location settings apply to that location unless you apply them through a settings template.
</Tip>

## Settings that need extra care

* Use [Settings hub](/platform/settings/settings-hub) when the same values should be maintained across multiple locations.
* Review [users and roles](/platform/settings/users-and-roles) before giving someone administrator access.
* Test member portal changes with a customer account before announcing them.
* Keep credentials and signing secrets in the relevant integration configuration; do not enter them in general text fields.
