Overview

Avigilon Access Control Manager runs on an appliance at your location. The integration adds your customers to Avigilon, gives them their cards and PIN, and puts them in the right access groups based on what they have in Nexudus. You decide which doors each group opens in Avigilon; Nexudus decides who’s in each group. For the cloud-based Avigilon system, see Avigilon Alta. The integration costs £50 a month per location (shown in your currency), on top of what Avigilon charges. You need your Avigilon server address, and a username and password for it.

How access works

The access times on a group in Avigilon always apply. Make sure they match when your passes can be used — if a pass allows 9 to 5 but the group only allows 10 to 5, customers can only get in from 10.

Before you start

Create your access groups in Avigilon — they can only be created and edited there. Each group should include every door a customer needs — for a meeting room, that’s the room door, the floor door and the main entrance.

Setting up Avigilon

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Avigilon and turn on Enable Avigilon integration.
  2. Enter the Avigilon Server address, Username and Password, and save.
  3. Choose an Avigilon access group for each of your Resources, Passes and Desks / Offices. Leave an item blank if it shouldn’t open any doors.
  4. Save.

Giving customers cards

Open the customer, go to Account → Access rights, and enter each card number in Access cards, pressing Enter after each one. Nexudus sends the cards to Avigilon with the customer’s Nexudus PIN. Avigilon doesn’t check customers in from door events — the Presence tracking section has no effect for Avigilon. Use another check-in method if you track occupancy.
