Overview
Access control integrations connect Nexudus to your door access system. Once connected, Nexudus adds your customers to the system and keeps their access up to date as they buy passes, make bookings and sign contracts — and removes it when those end. You don’t manage door access by hand. Some systems also send door unlocks back to Nexudus to check customers in, so your occupancy data stays accurate. How it works
In your access system, you group doors into access groups (some systems call them cardholder groups, access levels, policies or lock tags). In Nexudus, you link each pass, resource, desk and office to the groups it should open. Nexudus then decides who’s in each group:
Plans don’t give access directly — they give access through the passes they include. Contracts that are paused don’t give desk or office access.
When a customer has no access left, some systems (Brivo, Kisi, Salto KS and SofiaLocks) let you choose whether Nexudus suspends or deletes their user.
Planning your groups
- Include every door on the way. A group for a second-floor meeting room should include the room door, the floor door and the main entrance.
- Match access times. Times and days set on a group in your access system always apply, and Nexudus can’t change them. Make sure they match when your passes can be used.
- Group by type of access. One group per type of access (for example 24/7 access or Meeting rooms) is easier to manage than one per plan.
Choosing a provider
Costs are per location a month, shown in your currency in Settings → Integrations, and are on top of what the provider charges. All providers support passes and resource bookings.
On-premise systems need to be reachable from the internet, or connected through the Nexudus Network Bridge. If your system isn’t listed, you can connect it yourself with the Custom access control API.
Setting up an integration
1
Plan your groups
Create your access groups in your access system, following the advice above.
2
Connect
Go to Settings → Integrations, open your provider under Access control, turn it on and connect it. Each provider’s guide lists what you need.
3
Link your inventory
Choose the group for each of your resources, passes, desks and offices. Leave an item blank if it shouldn’t open any doors.
4
Choose check-in doors
If your provider supports it, choose which doors check customers in or out under Presence tracking. Usually only your main entrance needs one.
5
Test
Give a test customer a pass and a booking, and check they can open the right doors.
