Overview

An automation tile is a physical NFC or QR tile that can trigger an action when a customer scans or taps it. Tiles can support workflows such as check-in, reservations, or access-related actions, with optional customer, location, resource, plan, or pass restrictions. Go to Settings → Modules → Automation tiles. You need the automation-tile permission or administrator access.

Create an automation tile

1

Open Automation tiles

Go to Settings → Modules → Automation tiles and add a tile.
2

Identify the physical tile

Enter a clear name. After saving the tile, use its generated QR code or tile URL to configure the physical NFC or QR tile.
3

Choose the action

Select the action the tile should perform and provide any action parameters it requires.
4

Set restrictions

Limit the tile to the appropriate resources, plans, passes, or floor plan units. Configure check-in and geofence controls if needed.
5

Set customer messages

Add the success and error messages shown after a scan, then save and test the tile on site.

Restrictions and audit history

Use restrictions to prevent a tile from being used for the wrong resource, plan, pass, or floor plan unit. Nexudus records tile activity in the Tile activity log, where you can review successful and failed scans when troubleshooting.
Test every tile with the actual customer permissions and location conditions that will apply in use. A tile that works for an administrator may be unavailable to a customer because of a pass, plan, geofence, or resource restriction.
