Overview

Use Import and export to move data between Nexudus and your operational tools. Imports run as tracked background jobs, so you can review their progress and any validation problems. You can also export records from supported dashboard lists. Go to Settings → Imports. You need access to the relevant records and import tool.

Prepare an import

  • Use the template or field requirements supplied by the importer.
  • Check that location names match the location records in Nexudus.
  • Use the required date format and keep text values within the field limits.
  • Start with a small, representative file before importing a full dataset.

Run an import

1

Open Imports

Go to Settings → Imports and choose the type of data you want to import.
2

Upload and preview the file

Upload the file and review the preview or validation results before committing it.
3

Resolve validation problems

Correct invalid values, missing locations, date formats, or field lengths in the source file.
4

Start the import

Confirm the import. Nexudus creates a background job for the work.
5

Monitor the job

Check job status and percentage complete. Review the final result before treating the imported data as ready for use.

Export records

Where a dashboard list provides an export action, apply filters first so the output contains only the records you need, then download it for offline analysis or use in another system.

Validation behavior

Importers validate data before it is accepted. Common checks include text length, integer and decimal values, dates, and the location assigned to each row. Validation errors identify records that must be corrected before a successful import.
Keep the original source file and a copy of the reviewed import file. They make it easier to investigate a result or repeat the process later.
